What is a pass-through gift?
A pass-through gift is a gift made for the current year. You can also give a pass-through gift annually, quarterly, or monthly.
What is the minimum amount for a pass-through gift?
There is no minimum amount for a pass-though gift with two exceptions. A gift of at least $500 is required if you wish to award a scholarship or a teacher grant. A gift of at least $1,000 is required if you wish to personally award your scholarship at MEF's Awards Event in May.
What can I support with my pass-through gift?
Through your pass-through gift, you can fund a Scholarship or a Teacher Grant or you can support any of the MEF's Programs the foundation's operations. Your pass-though gift can also be unrestricted so the MEF may apply the funds where the MEF finds the greatest need.
What is the difference between a pass-through gift and an endowed gift?
A pass-though gift is an annual gift that the donor must funded each year the gift is awarded. An endowed gift is a perpetual fund that leaves a legacy of support for education; its earnings fund scholarships, staff grants, or the MEF’s programs and operations.
