On September 13, 2007, MEF inducted Mark Yablon and his family, Ray and Carolyn Corbin, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lewis (see video), and Ida Hokanson as the first members of the McKinney Education Foundation Renaissance Society. This Society honors those who have chosen to include MEF as a beneficiary in their estate planning. Their gifts will ensure that MEF will continue to impact education in McKinney for years to come.
These new members were honored at MEF’s “Share the Dream” luncheon. This luncheon also included MEF scholarship winners James Chandler (see video) and Robert Moseley who shared the impact that MEF has made on their lives, their educations, and their futures. Additionally, Cary Clayborn and Julia Danklef from Bernstein Global Wealth Management shared the philosophy of their company and gave an overview of how the company manages MEF’s investments.
MEF would like to especially thank Ms. Kari Zamora and select orchestra members from Dowell Middle School for their performance at the luncheon; Bernstein Global Management for hosting the luncheon; and the MEF Luncheon Committee, Pam Sexton, Lynn Sperry, Kathy Parker, Dr. Sandi Froese, and Dr. Carol Wichmann for coordinating the luncheon.
