MESA is governed by a board of directors, which is comprised of former McKinney students, each serving a two-year term. Board membership is open to any one who ever attended a McKinney school. Members are elected by a majority of the membership present at the MESA annual meeting each April.
MESA’s board of directors meets once a month. Members share responsibility for running the Board by serving on one of the following committees: Membership, Publicity, Events, and Scholarship.
The MESA Board is a committee under the McKinney Education Foundation. As such, the President of the MESA Board is an ex-officio member of the MEF Board of Trustees. In turn, the MEF Vice-President of Programs serves as a liaison to the MESA Board. These strong interactions enable the MESA to be an independent board committee while being an integral part of the MEF.
