MEF Scholarships
Scholarship applications for MISD graduating seniors are posted each January. Deadlines, rules and regulations will be listed at that time. Recipients are notified each May and scholarships are awarded at the annual MEF Scholarship Awards ceremony at the end of each school year. Check our website often for important dates and bulletins.
Criteria
The MEF Scholarship Selection Committee reviews each application and ranks them based on pre-determined criteria. Donors specify the criteria upon which each scholarship is awarded. Typically, criteria includes items such as academic standings, community involvement, intended field of study, and choice of college.
Approximately 50 percent of the scholarship recipients will be chosen based on academic excellence without regard to financial need. These scholarships will be awarded based on academic achievements and leadership in school and community.
Students who are employed shall be equally considered with students who are volunteering in the community.
Students who have been notified of full military scholarships or who have been awarded full athletic scholarships or any other full scholarships awarded by a college or university will be considered a low priority for scholarships awarded by the MEF Selection Committee.
Early graduates from high school will be equally considered for scholarships in the spring of their graduation year.
